Florida Hospital Tampa joins as Official Health Care Provider;
Florida Medical Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and & Spine joins as Official Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Providers
TAMPA, FL (August 14, 2018) - The Tampa Bay United (TBU) Rowdies are proud and excited to announce they are teaming up with two of Tampa’s finest; Florida Hospital Tampa - Official Health Care Provider and Florida Medical Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Spine - Official Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Provider.

As the Official Health Care Provider, Florida Hospital Tampa will focus on the whole health and well-being of TBU members. Athletic trainers will be available to players, offering education on injury prevention and treating injuries both on and off the field. Additionally, players and families will have access to the full breadth of specialty services available through the hospital.
Tampa’s expert sports medicine and orthopedic providers, Florida Medical Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Spine, led by Ira Guttentag, MD, head team physician for the Tampa Bay Lightning, will deliver a seamless continuum of care to TBU members. Should a player need further evaluation, athletic trainers will work with Dr. Guttentag, who has a full understanding of sports medicine, to establish a care plan to safely return the player back to the field.

Florida Hospital Tampa will provide TBU Rowdies players, parents and family members with:
- Health awareness and education through specialty services
- Athletic Trainers for TBU games, tournaments and special events
- Athletic Trainers will be available twice a week at the Waters Facility Athletic Training Room
Official Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Provider
Florida Medical Orthopaedic, Sports Medicine & Spine will provide TBU Rowdies players, parents and family members with direct access to and priority scheduling/appointments with Florida Medical Orthopaedic Doctors. Working with the trainers, coaches, and players, Dr. Guttentag plans to enhance medical support with educational programs to promote injury prevention. Under Dr. Guttentag’s care, players have full access to all Florida Medical Clinic physicians and subspecialties should the need arise.
